About Me

I started Ali’s Cycle DeVine in January 2021.   My business is located on the Wineries Trail in the Bridge Pa Triangle wine-growing district, just 10 minutes west of Hastings.

Hawke’s Bay has been my home since coming to live here in 2000, along with my husband Xan and three young sons.  A new farming life began, with the purchase of land at Black Bridge, Haumoana, alongside the Tukituki River.   We lived here for 14 years, transforming an old apple orchard into 33 acres of productive viticultural land.   In 2011, we purchased the existing vineyard at 2091 Maraekakaho Road for its outstanding grape-growing qualities, and it has been our home ever since!

The idea of bicycle shuttles & tours evolved from my love of cycling and fun with family and friends on the Hawke’s Bay cycle trails.   In my spare time I also enjoy mountain biking at Pan Pac Eskdale MTB park or to head away to Taupo or Rotorua's MTB trails with friends.  Bikes are not a new thing in our family as my grandfather, originally a wheelwright in Essex, England, shifted to bicycles. My aunt then took over and ran the family bicycle business for a further 40 years!  Cycling is in my blood!
